Looking back at Sikh Migration

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and blog.

This is a momentus occassion as we are working on launching our exhibition "My Story, Our Journey". The exhibition tracks the journey of Sikhs migrating into Birmingham and the Black Country from the 1950s to present day. The exhibition will be open to the public on the 29th July 2017 at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (in Gallery 16!!!).

In the last 6 months we have spoken to a number of 1st and 2nd generation Sikhs to get a sense of what led SIkhs to settle here and the experiences they faced along the way. We also have volunteers researching to support us in gathering more and more data, but there is still so much more we need to discover.

We know that when we launch our exhibiton, we will merely be scratching the surface on this enormous topic. That's where you come in.

Having taken a moment to have a look around, we now humbly request for you to join us.

Please send in your stories; call us and give us a chance to interview you; volunteer and help us collate this history!

There is so much left to do and every little helps.

Please support us by guiding us in the right direction.

Thank you again for your continuous blessings and support.
